“Remember man, thou art but dust and into dust return thou must” is the inscription on this brick, found in the basement of the Aaron Wills House in Rancocas, Burlington County, built 1682-1700 and rebuilt in 1786. Representing both the brickmaking trade and the region’s Quaker heritage, the brick was photographed in the twentieth century as part of the Historic American Buildings Survey.
