What will the Encyclopedia of Greater Philadelphia become? To envision our future digital platform, we convened a Digital Task Force for discussion in May 2010 and hosted a session at THATCamp Philly in September 2011. With support from the Barra Foundation, our site designer, Brian T. Jacobs, created mockups to help us continue to develop our project.
The encyclopedia’s digital platform evolved further with customizations implemented by the Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media in 2013-14 and a fully responsive redesign implemented by Rutgers Web Consulting Services in 2021-22.
Our plan is to continue to publish content online as it is completed, to direct attention to the many digital resources of our region, and to curate print publications and other products from this evolving resource. For book publishing, we work in partnership with the University of Pennsylvania Press.
